Mechanical Engineer / Leading Hand
Roteq Australia is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Leading Hand to join our Field Service team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional to work across the full lifecycle of turbomachinery mechanical systems projects — from design, planning and installation through to commissioning, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Analysing and troubleshooting turbomachinery and mechanical systems
- Carrying out routine maintenance and component investigations
- Leading and supervising field service teams and assigned labour
- Overseeing installation, commissioning, start-up, repair and maintenance activities
- Providing technical advice to customers on operation, maintenance and overhaul programs
- Monitoring engineering processes and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Preparing detailed site reports, findings and recommendations
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Supporting quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifying customer needs and potential sales opportunities
- Promoting safe and environmentally responsible work practices
We are looking for candidates with:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience and education
- Extensive experience with rotating equipment and turbomachinery
- Experience with compressors, turbines, gearboxes, pumps and centrifuges
- Hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting and maintaining Dry Gas Seals
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and rotating machinery
- Experience troubleshooting industrial plants and equipment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop positive relationships with customers, contractors, colleagues and management
- A flexible approach to working across different sites, customers and operating conditions
- Full Australian work rights required.

- Ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards
